Over the summer Rick recorded two new CDs that feature Paul Thompson (bass), Thomas Wendt (drums) and George Jones (percussion). The first is a new holiday jazz trio CD scheduled for release sometime this fall. It is entitled Snowriding and features an original with the same name. Full of fresh new arrangements of Christmas classics, it will be a great companion to your holiday parties. The other new release is an original trio recording entitled Sugar Shack. Along with two tracks written for his children, it includes a Latin-based version of "Eleanor Rigby" by the Beatles and a half-time funk version of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by 80’s pop band Tears for Fears. Rick's latest recording entitled, Peace Be Still is now available. This reflective and uplifting collection of re-harmonized hymns and spirituals is Rick's first solo piano release. Titles include such classics as "Joyful, Joyful", "Were You There", and "This Little Light of Mine" along with inspirational jazz standards such as Horace Silver's "Peace" and Duke Ellington's "Come Sunday." Sabremark Inc. of California has selected "Sleigh Ride" from Rick's holiday release A Sleigh a Song and a Baby Boy for their holiday compilation CD for the Coldwater Creek nationwide clothing stores and catalogs.
